Is purchasing a non UL listed aquarium light bad, and if so how can you make it safer?
I would have to think it wouldn’t be a good one to use. The UL (Underwriters Labratories) determines the compliance of products with safety standards, so this means that for some reason, the type of light you have wasn’t considered safe.
In order to make it “safer”, you’d first need to find out why it didn’t meet the safety standards in the first place. A certified electrician might be able to help you out there.
