Max out my motorcycle maximum allowable weight?
I just bought a 2008 Kawasaki Versys.
The max recommended load in addition to vehicle weight is 397 lbs (180 kg), including rider, passenger, baggage and accessories.
I weigh around 300lbs and plan on installing a top box to carry not much more than a backpack and books for school plus laptop. I also plan on carrying a passenger, and would like to get side cases in the future as well. Am I putting too much of a burden on my bike? I guess I shouldve checked on this before hand.
Does this mean that I can only carry 97 lbs more weight on my motorcycle? Or is it safe but not ideal to carry what I desire? If I can only carry 97 more pounds, the passenger is a no go.
I should just lose 100 lbs and and not worry about it!
Max load is everything you put on the bike.
If you weigh 300 dressed in all you will wear, you can go 97 more.
Get a smaller passenger, larger bike, or your own suggestion.
