Quick Q! Wall mounted gas heater….?
The wall heaters we have are only a few yrs old and several of them have the same problem. The pilot lite wont stay lit after WITH the safety glass put back in place. If we leave them off the heaters will usually stay lit. Could the be a thermocouple problem? We vacuumed the area gently to remove dust. This is not safe without the glass on them, we have 3 kiddos. clean the jets for the pilots,clean the main gas jets as well, if it has a carbon monoxide sensor,bypass it just for a bit!then clean all air intakes. if it stays lit after that, reconnect the carbon monoxide sensor(it should be connected to the thermocoupler,and to bypass it,just run a jumper wire from 1 side to the other on the thermocoupler)if it starts failing again, youve isolated the problem!if it fails before the sensor is rehooked, chances are the thermocoupler is bad.also a cracked heat exchanger can do this.
