Old Winchester .32 special?
My grandfather recently gave me an old rifle that he had lying around the house. It’s a winchester .32 special that I found out from the serial number was manufactured in 1902. There was a very small amount of rust on it that i successfully removed, and otherwise appears to be in good condition. The wood has numerous little scratches and dings that I suppose are normal for a 107 yr. old gun. I’m going to take it to a gunsmith to find out if it’s safe to shoot. Does anyone know what this could be worth?
If it is a lever action model 94, I would not do anymore work on it. Trying to make an older gun like that look like new may devalue it as a collector item. If it is a lever action, model 92 or 94, I’d bet it is worth quite a bit if it has most of the blue left. Little scratches on the stock don’t mean much at all.
