What areas of Leeds in West Yorkshire to live and avoid and why?
I'm thinking of moving to Leeds, but would like to know which areas should consider living in, and what areas they should not. I would also like to know what areas are good and bad. For example, quiet neighborhoods, neighborhoods with good local shops. Areas that have a lot of drugs and gangs. The areas that are clean transport, public, local shops carry, sports and fitness facilities, lighting at night. Highways, roads, etc. .. quiet streets that are safe for walking at night, local pubs. Anything that will help me be more informative, even if someone has photos or knows of sites where I can see images of different areas that would be very grateful
Avoid Chappeltown, Beeston, Gipton, Armley, Bramley, Belle Isle, Seacroft, London Little, Burmantoff, real Hawksworth. Most places just a few miles the center of the city are a bit harsh, although the city itself is quite luxurious shopping now. Some good places are, Horsforth, Guisley, Rawdon, Pudsey, Farnley. Cookridge Tinshill and Ireland but not of wood, which are often called Cookridge trying to make them sound better. Headingley parts are nice, but quite expensive as there is a large population student. Stanningly is a place that is improving.
Travelling with Yorkshire Terriers
Yorkshire Terriers are compact little dogs who make great traveling companions. Although they are now high especially for pets and are classified by the AKC (American Kennel Club) as a toy breed, the Yorkshire Terrier has its roots in the Terrier group. The origin of this dog was designed to find and destroy mice, rats, moles, voles and other pests in and around the house. They really have a natural instinct for these things, but the next one to two hundred years, the race was made smaller and more coat was made to create a real beauty a lap dog.
These dogs weigh about 5-6 pounds and can fit almost anywhere. You can even see Yorkshire Terriers bite the head off handbags. Another nice thing to note about traveling with a small dog is that Hotels increasingly allowing them to stay in the room with you. The airlines are still allowing them to climb into the cab with you. Provisions must be made with the airlines before documentation of vaccination and proper time is required. This does not really open many opportunities to travel.
Of course, the most common ways to travel with any dog in a car. There are some things to consider when traveling with Yorkshire Terriers and other small breeds that may differ from a larger dog breed. The first is security. If a large dog may be limited in the back seat or cargo area of a vehicle, Yorkies should not be aloud that much space. Some carriers travel Yorkshire terriers should have access. The carrier must be attached to the vehicle via a belt or other restraint. There are even carriers plush that are designed to accommodate a seat belt.
You should always travel with your Yorkshire Terrier vaccination history, including their rabies vaccination certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian. Before a long trip, you should have your dog checked by a veterinarian to ensure they are healthy enough to travel.
Once you have designed a plan for your safety and Yorkshire Terriers have determined that they are healthy, the next consideration is the food, water and any medication they may be on. Be sure to bring enough food to cover the duration of your trip and a few extra days to be sure they will been exhausted (the same goes for drugs). You want to give them access to water throughout the travel experience. This can be hard on the plans because of the increased security now a days, so be sure to plan ahead.
Finally, do not forget about their needs. Your dog will need to be taken for walks and allowed to relieve themselves periodically. Before they spend any time in a confined space, Yorkshire Terriers must be taken for a walk and make sure they will. Do not decide they do not need, just be patient and continue to give the order to go pee shit. They at least need to pee. Then you can return them to their safe place and be on your way.
